This week we found watermelon at the local super market, the seasonal fruit paired with a few warm beautiful days has us dreaming of Summer and all things that come along with it such as fresh fruit. That same day, I even picked up a peach tree to plant in hopes of fresh peaches in our future. This is usually a futile attempt here on the farm – between the clay rich soil, fruit loving wildlife and my lack of a green thumb my previous attempts have been unsuccessful. However, I just couldn’t resist another try. Fingers crossed!
Back to the recipe, although there are no fresh peaches at the store right now, we still were wanting a summer worthy dish. This 4 ingredient “dump” recipe is one of my mom’s and it definitly brings back memories of my childhood. Growing up I enjoyed many servings of this over the years topped with a little vanilla ice cream, Yum!

Trying to recreate the Betty Crocker Peach Cobbler using Butter Brickle Cake mix (which is no longer available). Do you know if another company makes this cake mix? Or how I can make the cake mix then proceed with the rest of the recipe?

For this recipe you can substitute yellow cake mix which I have done many times. This past summer I was able to find a butter brickle cake mix, I don’t recall which brand though. Have you checked Duncan Hines or Pilsbury? I know there are various similar mixes as well…golden butter, butter pecan etc. Pending your recipe maybe one of those would work or like I mentioned a simple yellow cake as well. Thanks for stopping by our blog. Have a great week!
