Gallery Walls seem to be a popular theme in home decorating right now. Because they hold so much personality, I wanted to create one in my home, and I wanted to do it on a budget. Last summer, I found some frames at a garage sale that were old, outdated, filled with cross-stitch, and …… priced at 25 cents each! I quickly planned to snatch them up, remove the cross-stitch, and paint them a cheerful turquoise. (Sidenote… I did feel a slight twinge of guilt when the garage sale hostess said, “Oh, I made these in high school. I’m so glad that you can use them in your home.” :/ ) Anyway…. I filled one with this beautiful printable of Philippians 4:8 that I found on Pinterest.
Next, I sat my oldest 4 kids down and told them that I needed their best artwork. They were all so happy to participate once they knew that it was going to be framed and hung in our house.
Here’s how it turned out. What do you think? I think this gallery wall has added a lot of color, cheer, and truth to a once bare space. Do you have any budding artists who would like to help you make one?
p.s. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked past this and had thoughts like, “Oh yes, think about whatever is true and lovely and excellent….” It has really helped refocus my thoughts and reset my attitude. God’s Word is powerful no matter where it is!
