I found a wonderful Thanksgiving resources on Ann Voskamp’s blog called the Family Thanksgiving Tree.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:18
We’ve used this for a few years now, and I feel that it teaches the kids about gratitude in two important ways:
1. Printed on the front of each leaf is a verse about thanksgiving about God. We read these together as a family each day to learn about the importance that God places on thanksgiving.
2. The back of each leaf is blank, leaving room for each family member to print (or draw) something for which he or she is thankful. This helps the kids (and grown-ups, too) recognize our blessing and give thanks to God.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2
Matthew was happy to help me get it all set up again this year.
I love this simple, yet powerful visual of gratitude that is displayed in our home this Thanksgiving season.
Download the leaves, cut some branches out back, and enjoy one in your home too!
