Autumn Zoo Rendezvous

Penguins from the north.

Work and play sometimes go together. October  isn’t over quite yet, but it certainly has had some fun along with some hard work. We took off a few hours due to inclimate weather and found ourselves at the Blank Park Zoo. Some of us had not been for many years. God’s amazing creativity always shines forth! Following is just a snippet with some of God’s words (which I love so much) mingled in.

Floridian flamingos

“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heaven and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

October Sunset in Iowa. Magnificent!

“Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!”

Beautiful yellow hibiscus blooming at the zoo. How many varieties of flowers has the Lord made for us to enjoy??

“The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.”

Song of Solomon 2:12

And the harvest sunrises have been breathtaking!

“…because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high…” Luke 1:78

The starfish was quite active this day. So cool to see!
Timid little monkey! So colorful and fun.

“Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. ”

Psalms 104:25

(Amy Grant recorded a song back in the ’70’s coming from this verse.)

Unfortunately Thomas’ face is a bit blurred. He had a marvelous time at the zoo.

Thomas was directly behind the glass, so he was just a couple inches from this beautiful beast.

“And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kinds. And God saw that it was good.” Gen 1:25

Anna loves unicorns. I told her we saw a unicorn at the zoo. 🙂

Jenny and Thomas enjoyed feeding the very tame giraffe. He loves lettuce.

This eagle was SO big! I couldn’t believe his size. He was perched about a foot from where we were standing. Each of his feathers looked as though they had been outlined. Yes they had…..by His Creator.

“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be wear; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

This cute little otter enjoyed playing with Jenny. When Jenny placed her face on the glass, the otter would come right up to her as if to kiss her. Was so cute!

To see the animals the Lord has created, to take a walk immersed in nature and to deliberately watch the sunrise and sunset makes your heart zing with amazement by our Awesome God!.

Have a great week!
