Hard to believe that we have approached our one year anniversary of The Gingham Apron Blog! What a fantastic year it has been! To celebrate one year and to show our appreciation for all the blessing we have received this past year, we are kicking off the holiday season with a series of giveaways! There will be five giveaways between now and Christmas and each one will feature a favorite thing selected by one of us Gingham Apron Gals here at the blog.. Be sure to keep checking back to enter for a chance to win one of our favorite things!
Our first giveaway is for one of my favorite things! I have chosen a sign from Happy Hoot Creations! Not only does Happy Hoot Creations make custom wood signs that are both beautiful and fun (see some of her work below), the owner Amy is a dear friend of mine.
Amy and I met several years ago while I was completing an internship at The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Amy was moving to Chapel Hill at the same time as me to attend graduate school and we were matched together by someone at the university to be roommates. Yes, we met on move in day. Brave souls we were….although, ironically enough, she happened to be an Iowa girl herself which put my mind at ease a bit about moving cross country and living with a stranger. Little did I know, that this roommate would quickly turn into such a great friend and become a lasting friendship. During our stint as roommates we both had our shares of ups and downs which solidified our bond. We met some great people that year, one of those being Amy’s husband, Eric. So fun to watch their relationship blossom. She has now officially put down Tar Heel roots and is raising three of her own little Tar Heels. UNC lures those kids in while they are young….check out this video of her oldest son, this sweet little guy went viral last basketball season and has already gained the attention of ESPN and USA Today…pretty good resume for a 3 year old, huh?

But, I would expect nothing less with a Daddy that works for the Tarheel basketball team and a Mommy whom was a Collegiate National Basketball Champion. 🙂
Amy is a talented and amazing woman on many levels and she has just recently began her company Happy Hoots Creations. I have eagerly filled my house with her signs and am excited to share the opportunity with one of you to win one of her signs as well.
Up for our first favorite things giveaway is this cute hand painted, rustic Christmas Sign. A perfect addition to your holiday décor, measuring 12″x12″ and ready to hang on the wall.
Be sure to check out her Etsy shop for some great gifts and don’t forget to enter our giveaway below!. Giveaway will close on Tuesday, November 24th!
