This week I kept hearing about Pi Day. Do you know about Pi Day? Since today’s date is 3/14 and pi is 3.14, today is Pi Day! I am especially aware of pi now that I have a seventh grader who has been calculating the circumference and area of circles. I cannot believe I have a child old enough to use pi!!!
So, how is Pi Day celebrated, you ask? Well, people eat lots of pizza pie and dessert pie. I’m know that several restaurants are offering pizzas and pies for $3.14 here in our town. Personally, I’m so glad that it’s not celebrated by doing more math calculations. Pizza and pie are much better.
So to get into the pi spirit, the kids and I made this chocolate pudding pie today.
We had lots of fun chopping
and whisking
And sampling (whoa… scary picture!)
And then pouring the luscious mixture into a graham cracker crust
We waiting with anticipation while the pie set up in the fridge, and then tonight after supper we each had a piece with a little whipped cream on top. We were not disappointed!
This chocolate pudding pie is simply divine! I hope you give it a try! Happy Pi Day!
