Although I love all of these festivities, sometimes I find myself losing my focus at Christmastime. Instead of slowing my thoughts, and focusing on God’s extravagant gift of his baby Son, I find myself hurriedly checking tasks off my to-do list.

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
This year, I want to spend more time in God’s word, reading and pondering the story of Christmas. I want to treasure the whole story in my heart. I want to unwrap the gift of God’s Word this Christmas.
I’ve got two beautiful scripture writing plans to share with you today. My kids and I are using it to guide us through the Christmas story.
Each day, I am trying to find a few quiet minutes to sit by the Christmas tree, to read, and to think about what Christmas means to me. I am pondering God’s plan of sending Jesus, the beautiful events that surrounded his birth, and how the Christmas story changed the course of history.
