Hey! I’ve got a wonderful book to tell you about today, and we’re even giving away a copy of it. Just read the first words of Fall in Love with God’s Word by Brittany Ann and see if they resonate with you.
“Do you ever wish you could read your Bible more often, but you rarely have the time, energy, or motivation? And when you do read your Bible, is it because you truly enjoy it, look forward to it, and get a lot out of it? Or is it usually just to cross another item off your to-do list?”
Fall in Love with God’s Word by Brittany Ann

I found this book to be so fresh, truthful, and impactful. Brittany Ann writes in a an honest and authentic way. She gives practical tips, lots of encouragement, and inspiration from God’s Word. Just check out this table of contents:

I especially love chapter 9, “Take Control of Your Thought Life.” Brittany writes about comparing your thoughts again Scripture. She says,
“Let’s take your list of negative thoughts and compare each one to Scripture. Can you find a verse that refutes each one? If so, cross out your thought and replace it with Scripture instead. For example, if you wrote, ‘God doesn’t care about me,’ cross it out and write instead: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (I Peter 5:7)

I also loved the chapter called “Your Perfect Quiet Time Plan.” It was so realistic and didn’t leave me feeling guilty. I got some new ideas that I can use to help me get into God’s Word more often.
“Can you wake up thirty minutes earlier or stay up thirty minutes later? Can you find time during the day- perhaps on your lunch break or while the little ones nap or play? Can you listen to an audio Bible while you’re driving, walking the dog, or nursing the baby?”

So if you’d like to learn how YOU can spend more time in God’s Word, how you can enjoy it more, and how it can change your life, this book is for you!
We are giving a copy away on Wednesday, May 28th. Just leave a comment below. You can tell me your favorite verse, where you first learned about God, where you like to read your Bible… really anything! We’ll draw a random winner next week. (I wish I could send this book to every one of you. It really is so lovely, fresh, and inspirational.)
I have quite a few verses I like, the one that comes to mind right now is Proverbs 3:5-6. I like to have my quiet time in the morning and do desire a greater hunger for the Word of God and meditating on it.
Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of my absolute favorites as well. Such wonderful promises held there!
One of my favorite scripture passages is Isaiah 43:1-3. When my husband passed away 12 years ago this became very special to me.
I’m so sorry that you lost your husband 12 years ago. I’m glad that you had a relationship with our God through it all.
I love this passage, too: Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
We have been watching The Chosen, and Mary Magdalene quotes this very verse in episode 1! Have you seen it? It’s wonderful!
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. (I had to look it up! What a powerful passage! Sobering, yet so hopeful)
I have just moved in to a special little corner of my basement where my craft/quiet time space has a window and a sliding glass door that looks out onto our wooded lot. I welcome all the beauty of the day as it wakes up. It is my happy place. I would love to read Brittany Ann’s book. I am currently studying thru the daily scripture reading with She Reads Truth. I am so grateful for the men and women currently in ministry who are gifted in teaching God’s Word.
I am imagining you in your special little corner, and I just love it! How wonderful.
This book sounds fantastic, and exactly what I need right now. I have been struggling with having my quiet times in the mornings.
We recently made a huge move from the north to a southern state, and the it has been hard to leave everything I know and my friends and family. I have been clinging to Joshua 1:9 during this transition. I am especially drawn to the “Be strong and courageous” part. I know God is with me, even though I feel so alone at times.
Oh, I have your cookbook and love it by the way!
Thanks for the opportunity to win this book!
Joan, we moved across the country in 2017, so I know how you are feeling. I clung to Psalm 91 during that time, because Moses talks about how the LORD is his “dwelling place,” and I sure needed to feel like I had a familiar dwelling place in that season. I pray that you will find a new church and new friends very soon.
Thank you so much for getting our cookbook, and we are so glad that you are enjoying it.
I knew God, but after a two bouts of cancer I have found God to be steadfast, faithful, and my rock.
I’m so sorry that you had to go through cancer (twice!), but I’m so glad that you found God to be a faithful Father through it all.
I just finished a womans Bible Study and this would be a good book to start in on next.
Awesome! God’s timing is so good.
Last year I did The Bible Recap, which is an app to read the bible through in a year, with a group of women. It made all the difference to me to have them holding me accountable and having an easy to follow plan. Reading it through brought the bible to life for me in a way it never has my entire life. This year I’m doing it again with my husband and teenage son. The more I’m in the Word, the more I fall in love with it and want to make time for it!
Oh, wow! The Bible Recap sounds amazing! And I love it so much that you are doing it with your teenage son. I completely agree with you: the more I’m in the Word, the more I fall in love with it, too.
I was just talking to my walking buddy today about my spiritual life and how it seems to be lacking something. Like I need to hit the refresh button! Maybe this could be what I am looking for!
I love reading scripture in my sunroom, cozy and comfortable feeling God’s beautiful nature all around me. Now I watch sermons at home in my sunroom too. Such a different way to attend church in today’s environment.
I love how you incorporate God’s creation with time in His Word. Very cool and very powerful!
God is so great to bring things into our lives just when we need them.
I read a devotional and do my bible study in the morning, even if it happens between helping the kids get ready, I go back to it before diving into my own workload. Then, at night, I read to my little guy and as I sit in his room waiting for him to fall asleep (because he doesn’t like me to leave) I read a chapter of the bible and then do my scripture writing. Mid-day, after lunch, I also read a chapter of Proverbs. I feel like if I “touch” on the word those 3 times a day it helps keep me grounded.
Tania, I love this so much! So cool to “touch” on the word 3 times a day. It makes me think about how we need to nourish our bodies 3 times a day with a meal and our soul 3 times a day with the Word of God.
My favorite verse is Hebrews 13:3, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them…”
I am thankful to read my Bible in freedom, the persecuted church in over 60 countries can not.
I am reading the devotional “When Faith is Forbidden” by Todd Nettleton of Voice of the Martyrs.
I first learned about God from my precious Grandma Carolyn who made sure that her grandbabies were in Sunday School each week. I miss her like crazy, like nobody else, but what solace that I will see her again. This book sounds fantastic; I am always in need of more Scripture in my life.
Would love to win this book! My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11
Thank you for sharing about this book which looks to be very inspiring! I know I need to be in the Word more so maybe this is what I need. One of the verses that is on my heart lately is Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” I love this reminder!
how do you enter? tried and got like a big sweepstake “thing”…not getting into that….
I am reading thru Psalms right now. Beautiful love poems but also a very tormented David quite often
I love to read your posts and make your recipes. I just made the cobb salad last night and it was a hit. My non-salad eating son-in-law even said it was good and finished his whole salad. Thank you for taking the time to share these things.
I’m excited to read this book. I am currently doing an online Bible study with Proverbs 31 Ministries and really enjoying it and learning more about God’s word.
My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29.11. I feel it applies to everyone in different circumstances.
I love these verses, too, Deb. God has a wonderful plan for all of us.
My life’s verse is Jeremiah 29:11-13. Several verse plaques in my home remind me of this verse daily
I love the verse Philippians 4:13 and its one of my favorites! I really learned and accepted Jesus when i was in grade school when i gotten invited to a youth church camp and going to that youth church camp at 11 years old change my world! I love to read my bible in my sitting chair with peace and quiet and nourish my soul in God’s words! right now my best friend and i are doing a bible study about Esther and she is one of my favorite women’s in the bible! Esther is strong and passionate about her people and the people she loves dearly!
I really loved reading your testimony, Kim. My kids will be going to church camp this summer, and I agree with you that it can be so impactful. And yes, the story of Esther is amazing! “For such a time as this!!!”
Psalms 138:3 As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength
What a beautiful verse, Dawn!
