North of our back yard the big yellow machine was working away. On this exciting day I just had to run out and snap a picture of the beginning of bean harvest.
The fall colors are so vibrant right now. I do hope our fall season is long this year. The temperatures are always so enjoyable during Iowa’s autumn. It’s just gorgeous now with the falling leaves, the fields turning from green to golden and the flowers brightening our yards, even road banks.
Do you like the fall scene? Mr. Farmer, Olivia and I backed up the pickup into the corn field and chopped down 40 stalks with the corn knife. Olivia, 9, thought she should learn how to drive the pickup, so she drove us home. 🙂 Mr. F drove in a steel post, Olivia tied the twine, and I added a few extras. Hope you like it!
Kind of looks like September, doesn’t it? It was hot today! Spent most of the day outdoors gardening and cleaning out my little garden shed. A groundhog decided to tear it up the other day. So sad! Actually it needed to be tidied up a bit anyway. Guess I killed 2 birds with one stone. Wish I could’ve killed him. Mr. Farmer has the big set and baited. Hasn’t caught the groundhog but did catch an opossum. Olivia thought it was “beautiful” and wanted to keep it for a pet. 🙂
