What is your #1 FAVORITE Christmas cookie? I know, this is a tough question, but honestly, if you had to choose just one, what would it be?
This is where the categories come into play, right? You might ask, “Best tasting? or Family favorite? or Prettiest? or Traditional? or “It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it!” There are probably categories I’m missing, but, you get the picture.
There really are SO MANY fine tasting ones, aren’t there? And pretty ones! And…because it’s tradition (even if the flavor is not the most desirable).
Well, we’d like to hear from you, our wonderful readers. What is a MUST for you to bake up or view at your gathering this Christmas? We’d love to hear from you and I’m sure the rest of our readers would, too. Please tell us why this cookie recipe is your all-time favorite.
Well, here are two of mine:
Coming in at number 2:
Thumbprint cookies
Paired with a cup of coffee, these little nuggets satisfy the eye, taste buds and have been a family treasure for several generations.
Ava enjoys making some beautiful decorations.
Coming in at Number 1:
Then there are these–they take the number 1 spot…this year, anyway.
Always, always these were served up at my Mom’s table, her mom’s table (Grandma Ruby Mains) and her mom’s table (Great-grandma Grace Hiscock)
Date-Filled Icebox Cookies (Date Pinwheel Cookies)
Okay, it’s your turn. Let us know what your favorite is. Can’t wait to hear it!
Christmastime is simply fascinating to me. Even when I look at the pictures of the cookies, I easily reminisce of days gone by, gatherings that were so precious to me and loved ones I grew even closer to over a cookie and cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
And it’s all because God chose to send His son into this world to rescue us from our sin. Savor the Christmas story in the books of Matthew and Luke during the next few days before Christmas. You’ll treasure the words deep into your heart as you bite into a Christmas cookie this season.
Merry Christmas!!
