Field Trip Friday #1 , The Iowa State Historical Museum

My family uses My Father’s World for our home school curriculum. One thing that I love about it is that is uses a 4-day school week. That leaves Fridays to be a make-up day, light day, or field trip day. This year, my kids and I are going to try to take field trips around our city on Fridays. We are challenging ourselves to try a lot of new places.

Summary:

For field trip #1, we visited the State Historical Museum. The kids had a great time and learned a lot about Native Americans from Iowa, Iowa’s involvement in the Civil War, movies made in Iowa and and more.
