***Giveaway Update: Our random winner is Staci! Thanks to all who entered! Also, right now the The Gutsy Girls are only $2.99! Wow***
Readers! I’m so excited to share a book series that I know your family will LOVE! Gutsy Girls: Strong Christian Women Who Impacted the World! Don’t they sound great?!? Well, they are! And thanks to the generous author, Amy L. Sullivan, I’ve got some books and another fun surprise to give away. (More about that below).
Our family was recently introduced this wonderful, compelling, life-changing series called Gutsy Girls: Strong Christian Women Who Impacted the World.
These books are illustrated biographies of strong women who changed the world by being brave (GUTSY!) enough to obey God. The first three books are about Gladys Aylward (the missionary to China), Sisters, Corrie & Betsie ten Boom (Christians who hid Jews in their home during the Holocaust), and Fanny Crosby (the blind writer of thousands of hymns). The stories are unbelievable; my energetic kiddos quietly listen to the entire books. And they are illustrated in a whimsical, lovely way that really captures my kids’ attention.
I especially love these books because through them, my girls (and my boys!) are learning about strong, Christian women who allowed God to accomplish his will through their lives. Isn’t this truly the goal for our kids? More than anything, I want my girls and boys to listen to God’s voice and recklessly obey, and in these books they are able to see what happens when some gutsy women did just that.
These books are also a terrific educational resource! Each book contains a glossary, historical notes, and fun facts. They could be an awesome addition to a homeschool curriculum or a jumping off point for a unit study or lapbook. This year our family will be studying WWII, and I look forward to pulling out the Gutsy Girl book about the ten Boom sisters. The author, Amy L. Sullivan also includes free educational resources on her website for each of the three books. These include lesson plans, printables, and enrichment packets! How great is that! Thank you, Amy! You can find them all here.
Ok, one more fun thing! The author has teamed up with Whimsie Dots to create these beautiful leather cuffs. Aren’t they awesome?! When your girls see this beautiful piece of jewelry on their wrist, they will think of Corrie, Fanny, and Gladys. Very cool. We are giving away two of them along with a set of three books.
Ok, so enter below to win the set of the 3 Gutsy Girl books (The ten Boom Sisters, Fanny Crosby, and Gladys Aylward) and 2 leather cuffs. I can’t wait to send out all of these great books and cuffs. There are lots of easy ways to enter!
P.S. This week Amy is releasing her fourth Gutsy Girls book (Way to go, Amy!!) and it’s about the astronomer, Jennifer Wiseman. Just in time for the solar eclipse! Check it out here.
