He is risen! Hallelujah! As we reflect on this special and meaningful day, I am reminded of these gifts of amazing grace from our God:
Christ (died) for us while we were still sinners. – Romans 5:8
He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us. – Ephesians 5:2
God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. – Romans 3:24
Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. – 2 Corinthians 5:17
God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. – James 4:6
This is what (the Lord) requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8
Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God. – John 6:68-69
The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. – Luke 19:10
(Reflections from Our Daily Bread)
God extended his grace to us – completely undeserved and unmerited. His grace is an abundant favor to undeserving sinners (like me). One of my favorite reminders of this depiction comes from Isaiah 1:18 ” ‘Come now, let us settle the matter,’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
When we accept him, he makes us completely new again. As it states in Our Daily Bread, “He took our guilt, our shame, and brokenness upon Himself and offers eternal life and forgiveness to all who will trust in Him.”
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
“From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. ” John 1:16
