As Easter is upon us, I thought it would be the perfect time to share this treasure of a book. It was given to us at Christmas. Heaven by Anne Graham Lotz is so touching and sweet. My kids have had many questions about heaven.
“Mom, what is heaven like? Will you be there too?”
“Will I be sad to be there? What if I miss you?”
I try my best to answer them, but I love how this book has beautiful illustrations that correlate with scripture.
It begins with a grandparent passing. The grandchildren miss their grandma, and are curious to know where did she really go?
This book answers many of those questions we have. It has such a friendly, comforting way of addressing them. On this page in particular, Anne writes,
“If there are tears on your face
When you arrive on that day,
Jesus Himself
Will wipe them away.
Inside there is no crying.
Inside there is no pain.
Inside there are no bad people.
You’ll never be lonely again.”
This book provides hope-filled love and encouragement for when we enter the pearly gates. I urge you to spend the time reading this book with your children or grandchildren – you’ll be glad you did. “Heaven is a real place. It’s where Jesus lives and waits for those He loves to come to Him. It’s a place of joy and love and hope – a place where all of God’s children, young and old, will stay and be happy forever.”
“Do not let your hearts be troubled
Trust in God. Trust in me also.
There are many rooms in my Father’s house…
I will come back. And I will take you to be with me.
Then you will also be where I am.” John 14:1-3
