Home schooling is truly a joy and blessing. The time spent learning with my kids is priceless, and I know there are many benefits that will be felt for years.
But even with all of the benefits, I sometimes feel overwhelmed. Questions like these quietly sneak into my thoughts:
Are they learning enough?
Will they be prepared well for careers, serving the Lord, taking care of future families?
Are we using the right materials and curriculum?
Are we spending enough time each day on math, science, reading, etc.?
Then a few days ago I read this verse from Isaiah 54:13
All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
and great shall be the peace of your children.
This gave me so much hope and peace. If I surrender them and their training to the Lord, he will teach them what they really need to know. Just like me, he desires to give them peace. He has a plan for them and will prepare them to execute that plan.
The Lord cares so deeply for me and my children. I am resting the promise of Isaiah 54:13 today.
