We have had a heat wave here in Iowa this past week and have not been able to enjoy many of our summer activities because the heat has been at dangerous levels. We are missing the swimming pool, the boat, bike rides, and the swing set. One thing this heat wave hasn’t slowed us down on are cool treats. Yes, you guessed it….ice cream! One of our favorite toppings to our ice cream treats is this Homemade {2 Ingredient} Chocolate Magic Shell! (My husband calls it the addicting chocolate topping) You can whip it up in just a few minutes to add a fun variation to your ice cream! Did I mention it’s only two ingredients? Oh, wait….I did. Did I mention you can make it in the microwave? Have you decided to make it tonight after supper? 🙂
- 2 cups of chocolate (milk chocolate, semi sweet, feeling fancy...Dove chocolates)
- ¼ cup refined coconut oil
- Combine chocolate chips and coconut oil together in microwavable safe bowl
- Heat in 30 second increments, stirring in between each increment until melted and smooth
- Pour over ice cream and Enjoy!
- Store in airtight container at room temperature
As kids, my sisters and I use to love drizzling (or more like dumping) magic shell onto our ice cream, watching become solid and then digging in, now it’s fun to watch my kiddos enjoy the same treat and eagerly await the chocolate to harden.
