Homemade Ice Cream

I had one of those cravings for homemade ice cream.  I received an ice cream maker as a wedding gift, and never really quite figured out exactly how to use it.  Well, it is so simple!  Using a Kitchen Aid ice cream mixer attachment with bowl, makes the process so easy.  Yay!  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it only takes 5 ingredients to make the most delicious homemade ice cream.

Summer is the time for all of those delicious fruit pies, cobblers, and just about any excuse for ice cream, right?  All that one needs to do is mix the ingredients together in a blender.  Then, depending on the type of ice cream maker (mine is Kitchen Aid),  I let the ice cream bowl freeze in the freezer for a day prior.  When I am ready to make the ice cream all I have to do is simply pour the blended ingredients into the mixer, put on the ice cream attachment to the head and stir until it stops (this can take 25-40 minutes) on the low speed.  Now it’s ready!  It can be eaten – and is more like soft serve or frozen in airtight container until ready.

It is so delicious!  There’s nothing like homemade ice cream awaiting in the freezer 🙂
