Are you looking for a charming historic boutique hotel?
Hotel Greenfield is your answer.
Three years ago, the renovation took place when the existence of the building (circa 1920) was intact with its solid brick exterior and relatively hollow carcass interior 2nd and 3rd floor wood studs. The first floor was functioning and operated as a restaurant. Local community visionaries understood the potential this brick beauty had to offer.
I had the privilege of working with this interior design opportunity. Inspired, in part, by European character and comfort, the hotel design fuses vintage furnishings and modern fixtures with its Classic Revival style. Amenities include a lobby, bar and lounge area, 20 guest rooms, two of which are extended stay suites, and a meeting area. The existing Old Hotel Restaurant & Lounge has continued to operate in a recently acquired adjoining building (the old Free Press building now known as The Olive Branch Family Restaurant). Hotel Greenfield is the sister location to the Blackhawk Hotel in Cedar Falls, IA.
Hotel Greenfield is ideally situated near lakeside parks, woodland preserves, the White Pole Road and the Iowa Aviation Museum, as well as celebrated cultural destinations including the Henry A. Wallace Country Life Center, the Freedom Rock, the Warren Cultural Center, museums and the Covered Bridges of Madison County, among other attractions. Greenfield is located 13 miles south of Interstate 80; a one-hour drive from Des Moines and 1.5-hour drive from Omaha.
