If you are looking for a book of heart-warming, touching stories to share with your kids grand kids or nieces or nephews or neighbor kids… you get the idea!… look no further than In Grandma’s Attic by Arleta Richardson.
Arleta Richardon carries the reader away to another time and place by retelling the stories her grandmother told her. Grandma had grown up on a farm in Michigan in the 1800s, and while she tried to be a good girl, she often found herself getting into scrapes and mischief with her siblings and friends. I think that I enjoy this book so much because it kind of reminds me of some of the stories that my grandma told me about her rural childhood. And of course there are stories about aprons, which are some of my favorite things. 😉
The stories are so fun and often cause my kids to laugh. They say, “Read just one more, mom!” And to me, that it a telltale sign of a great book.
Richardson captures a simpler time where family and farm life were so important, and I just love this book and her following books in the series. While its cold and snowy outside, why not make some delicious homemade hot chocolate or this delicious microwave latte, gather some special kids, and share this fun book. Let’s all make some fun memories with the ones we love!
