Growing up my Mom was known for her Scotcheroos and her Rice Krispie Treats. My friends could always count on a pan of treats to be resting on top of our microwave for us to eat. Her scotcheroos were thinner than normal allowing the flavors to blend evenly making them extra delicious and her rice krispies were extra thick and gooey, giving them a step above everyone else’s. When it comes time for me to make treats for a bake sale, school function or just around home, often times I pull for one of these two recipes. Yes, rice krisipies have been around for ages and are in fact on the back of the box, however these are just a smidge different that make them irresistible. What’s the secret? More of the ingredients to make them extra thick and gooey and a splash of vanilla and pinch of salt. (you can add sprinkle for an extra effect, my daughter thinks sprinkles make everything better) Next time you are looking for a quick and easy treat or dessert give this recipe a try!
