Italian Wedding Cake
I love to make cupcakes or a layered cake with this easy recipe (it starts with a white cake mix!) and pipe on the decorator’s frosting.
I was honored the day my cousin, Patty, gave me her decorator frosting recipe for she used to have a bake shop and made many gorgeous and delectable cakes!
I recently made these for Molly’s birthday party and they were gone in a flash- moist, super flavorful…. simply delicious!

An easy and effective way of making one of my favorite cakes! Always have 2nds. 🙂
Ingredients
- FOR THE CAKE:
- 1 white cake mix
- 1 C shredded coconut
- ½ C black walnuts
- 2 t. almond extract
- 1 t. butter flavoring
- PATTY'S DECORATOR FROSTING:
- 1 C Crisco
- 2 lbs. powdered sugar
- 1½ t clear vanilla
- ½ t almond extract
- ½ C milk
Instructions
- Make the cake using box instructions, omitting egg yolks.
- Add coconut, walnuts, almond and butter flavorings.
- Bake by box instructions.
- Cool cake
- Frost or decorate with Patty's decorator's frosting
