Good Morning Everyone!
It’s early morning on the farm. Today is January 10, 2017. How quickly the holidays have vanished. The memories linger as Mr. Farmer and I sip our coffee at the breakfast table and reminisce over the past month of the flurry of Christmas activities with friends and family. JOY floods our soul.
The kitchen changes color just a bit. I turn, look out the window to see yet another glorious sunrise reminding me of God’s creative hand painting a new and magnificent picture in the sky, LIVE STREAMING……changing by the second. So I dash to the office, grab the camera off the shelf and rush to the front door, step outside in the freezing cold to capture some of the breathtaking colors on the eastern horizon. Am I the only one who gets excited about this? Let me know if you’re with me. I’d love to hear some of your “frozen moments in time” stories. 🙂 It brings me sheer joy to look at this fresh new day upon us……one with no mistakes in it.
Resolutions. I always feel like I need a list of resolutions to implement in my planner along with all the scheduling that must be done. I desire change in those weak areas that seem to be on the resolution list year after year……………………
This year, daughter Annie suggested listening to a podcast from “Hearts at Home with Sally,” which I highly recommend. Again, I received joy in my heart after listening. Basically she said to drop the list, spend each day, in the bible, just for a little while with my heavenly Father. Ask Him to use me to love others…build relationships and share my faith. How simple is that? (Honestly………..some days are simpler that others. Agree?)
As I seek Him, He will give me wisdom, understanding, knowledge, instruction and grace (among many other tools) to implement in my daily walk with Him. He brings forth opportunities galore to involve myself in the lives of others. He wants my focus to be on Him….walking down His lane, equipping me as I go for the tasks at hand.
Contentment in Him is what I long for. It’s what I need. Not a long list of resolutions that will only frustrate me and make me feel defeated.
Yes, the sun came up on our frozen pond. Mr. Farmer said a hunter told him yesterday the ice is 8-10″ thick now. I’ve been viewing ice-fishing photos on Facebook right here in our county.
And just as His sunlight shines upon our pasture and makes a clear picture for me to see from our kitchen window, the light of God’s word shines afresh in my heart and mind, helping me to see clearly……with each new day!
May God bless you very abundantly in this fresh, new year. What joy He will bring you as you decide to follow Him day by day by day.
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Phil 5:16-18
Perhaps you haven’t begun your spiritual journey by placing your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and as your Lord. Then let TODAY be your day! On the home page, under the tab “Our Inspiration” there is a line that says, “A relationship with God.” Click on that line and read it. The steps to following Christ are simple. It is your heart and mind that need to make a serious decision. You will NEVER regret it. And NEVER have I met a person who has.

I so enjoy your pictures of the farm, especially sunrises and sunsets. I grew up on a farm and now live in the city. The houses and the trees block my view at my home, but your photos transport be back in time to a wonderful place. Even though I don’t get to see the sunrise each day, I am so thankful for God’s beauty around me each day in many ways and a fresh start. Each day is a gift! Your recipes are yummy too!

Thank you, Kim, for your lovely comment. You’re right! Each day is a gift with so many wonderful blessings in it. I’m so grateful to be able to see a clear sunrise and sunset each day, which, of course, I take for granted more times than not.
City living definitely has its perks and I love going there. The lights and action energize me. The peace and quiet of country living soothes the soul. Thank you for reading our blog and the support you have just given us. We appreciate it very much!
God bless!
