God defines LOVE this way:
LOVE is patient. LOVE is kind. Love does not envy. LOVE does not boast. LOVE is not proud. LOVE is not rude. LOVE is not self-seeking. LOVE is not easily angered. LOVE doesn’t keep a record of wrongs. LOVE does not delight in evil. LOVE rejoices with the truth. LOVE always protects. LOVE always trusts. LOVE always hopes. LOVE always perseveres.
(1 Corinthians 13)
14 challenges for us to live by…….for the rest of our lives. Now that’s a tall order! And when we live by them (with God’s help, for we do not have the power to do this on our own) we will experience much joy. Our lives will be enriched. Blessing and loving those around us brings joy beyond measure. This is what God wants. This is the way to live out our faith in God through Jesus. These elements implemented into our lives enrich everyone and bring our Heavenly Father delight.
If you happen to be fixing a Valentine meal, I’d love to share a great appetizer with you. It’s very easy and very delicious and takes just a couple items you just might have in your pantry: grape jelly and chili sauce. (I know, right? Kinda weird combo but trust me, it’s delicious!)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- ⅛ C milk approx.
- salt and pepper to taste
- onion powder (optional)
- 2 slices bread left out awhile to dry out
- Sauce:
- ½ C grape jelly
- 1 bottle chili sauce
- Thin with a little water if need be.
- Meatballs:
- In large bowl, whisk egg and milk; add seasonings, torn up bread and meat. Make into balls the diameter of a quarter. Brown in skillet or stick in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Drain on paper towel. In skillet or saucepan, mix together grape jelly and chili sauce.
- Place meatballs in crock pot or casserole dish and pour sauce over the top. Simmer or keep warm until time to eat. I use toothpicks.
