My sister-in-law, Kay, is such a good cook! Even when she was a newlywed, I was always asking for her recipes to try. This is one from waaaaayyyyyy back then. BTW (By the way) she and my brother, Craig, and another brother and wife, Brian and Deb, and Mr. Farmer and I were all married the same summer! Can you believe that! We were all very young! And we girls tried our best at cooking. My sisters-in-law were great cooks even when they first began. Hope you like this one….kinda delicate and dainty. I took this pan of them to the harvesters! Ha!

- ¾ C marichino cherries
- 2 eggs + 1 yolk
- ½ t salt
- ½ t baking powder
- ½ C black walnuts
- 1½ C brown sugar

- Mix all other ingredients together and pour over crust. Bake 20 min.
Even though this recipe didn’t call for it, I decided to whip up some icing and drizzle over top of warm bars.
Do I always make a mess? YES! But the taste of fresh baked bars is so worth it!
Wish you were sitting at my table taste-testing with me!
