:1 “Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers!”
Evildoers have always been around, haven’t they? And they will always be around, won’t they? Often times they get what they want, but not forever. Sooner or later their wrongdoing catches up to them. When we keep our eyes solely focused on the Lord and not on the wrongdoer we can be at peace knowing He is in control of the situation.
:2 For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
They come and they go. But it is the Lord whose steadfast love endures forever.
:3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
His word is true; His ways are correct. His faithfulness knows no end. Choose this path with our Heavenly Father and dwell richly in peace and calm with Him.
:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Do your wants, hopes and dreams line up with the ways of our God? If so, expect to be delighted in Him! The Christian life should be a life of abundant joy. Yes, heartache comes. Yes, sin and the consequences of sin present themselves in our fallen world, but the Christian life promises hope, peace and contentment. A relationship with our Creator trumps all others. Truly.
:5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.
Oh what a promise this is. Your way……all day, every day. Bring Him in to everything you do. Talk to Him all day and let Him lead you as you work, play and rest. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He sent His son to pay the ultimate price so that we can have access to the Almighty God. What an amazing privilege. Call on Him throughout the day. Have conversation and listen to His voice, His ways and be sure to do what He tell us. He will act. Don’t you love how He is working behind the scenes in every situation we commit to Him. Trust in Him to do it. He really will.
That’s all for now. Psalm 37 delights my soul. Many treasures can be found as you read each verse slowly. I will bring you more in the near future, my friends. I hope you will open your bible, underline those verses that stick out to you and take ownership of them….meaning…..act upon God’s work in your life. Until next time, rejoice in the Lord, always.

Hi Alice,
Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes, I love Psalm 37:4, too! I love the promises of God. When I read them I feel like I’m walking on much higher ground in my day-to-day living.
The Gathering Table has delighted us so much in that: 1. We actually got to do such a special project and 2. We’ve gotten so many kudos from our readers….we’re just blown away. Our goal is for everyone who reads that book will be inspired by our loving Heavenly Father and will follow Him with all their heart.
Thank you, friend and sister for sharing your heart and inspiring us all.
