I’m sharing with you today an old-fashioned favorite salad that has made it’s way through generations. We have this refreshing salad every Thanksgiving and Easter. It’s one of those “must have” sides. It brings out the flavors of the main dish and is light and airy and citrusy.
This recipe comes originally from my late grandma. How I love to see her beautiful handwriting on this old stained recipe card. She was a wonderful writer with her southern charm, she was diligent about writing cards and recipes. Granny was an incredible giver. She brought gifts to us every time she would come to visit us. When we would visit her she would have her kitchen stocked full ready for grandkids!
Now, whenever I pull out this recipe, I think of her. I hope you enjoy this with upcoming holidays, potlucks, and picnics – it’s a simple recipe that everyone seems to enjoy.

Dear Molly,
Your recollection today and seeing Mom’s recipe card just warm my heart and brings a smile. How she loved all of you and yes, what good times we shared! It is a mother’s joy to experience those kindnesses and traditions being repeated. This blog and the cookbook you all created brings happiness to many.
Love you and all,
Granny/Mom
