Memorial Day + Potluck Favorites
While Memorial Day weekend typically marks the kick-off of summer for most of us, it is also a holiday in which we remember those in the military who died while serving our country. What an amazing sacrifice! It is almost unbelievable to think of all our men and women who were willing to risk their lives for the freedom of our country. What a humbling recollection.
Locally, we have an artist, Ray “Bubba” Sorensen who has been painting “The Freedom Rock” for almost 20 years now. Check it out if you are in the area! He also has been commissioned to The Freedom Rock Tour in which he creates a unique Freedom Rock to each of the 99 counties in Iowa.
