It’s here! It’s really here! We’ve been preparing and planning and awaiting this day for oh so long!
Here at The Gingham Apron wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
This beautiful passage about our Savior and Lord comes from Isaiah 9: 6 and 7………read along with me:
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon His shoulder
and His name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Might God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over His kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this
Our pastor started his sermon yesterday morning with this very interesting clip. Take a watch:
When I was in high school in the early 70’s, our music teacher made certain that everyone of her students learned Handel’s Messiah sometime during their high school career. At the time I didn’t realize that it was such a big deal. Memorizing scripture was another task I didn’t value much, yet I understand now that the hard memory work sticks with you for a lifetime! As I listened to Handel’s Messiah “clip” during worship service yesterday, I was able to follow along to so much of that beautiful song about our Savior and King, Ruler who has no end, Jesus Christ.
We know what God gave us, but what does God want from us? Submission, not sacrifice. Nothing we can give Him is good enough. He wants our heart. He wants our love. He wants us to surrender to His will. He wants our obedience. God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to take away our sin and to give us life everlasting.
HE CAME TO SAVE SINNERS. EVERYONE!
THE BEST GIFT OF ALL TIME!
Oh friend, receive His gift this Christmas, if you haven’t done so already. Don’t hold back. Reach out and receive His free gift of salvation—of everlasting life.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
