We love Friday night pizza night around here, and I usually enjoy making homemade dough. But last Friday night we were playing outside with the kids and really have a wonderful time together as a family. Time flew by and suddenly it was time for supper and I didn’t have any pizza dough ready.
I remembered that I had a package of Naan bread (Indian flat bread) in the fridge and decided to give it a try as the base for the pizzas. The naan was the perfect size for us to make individual pizzas and so the kid got to come up with their own creations. (I get my naan at Aldi. They have regular and garlic. We love both!)
We had barbecue chicken, bacon and cilantro pizza. Just use your favorite bbq sauce as a base. It caramelizes in the oven and is divine.
We had spicy Italian with pepperoncinis.
And we had meat-lovers with hamburger and pepperoni. (Forgot to take a picture of this one, but I’m pretty sure you get the idea!)
The pizzas turned out wonderfully and it was fun to have such a variety of toppings. These were the easiest pizzas I’ve ever made. Here are a few other topping ideas from some of our favorite Friday night and breakfast pizzas.
