Orange Sunrise Smoothie

December is here and the weather so far has been pretty balmy for Iowa.  We’ve had almost record high temperatures for this time of year.  I’m lovin’ it!  We’ve had lots of time to continue to play outdoors, finish up yard work, and the Christmas decorations have been a breeze when the sun is shining.

My family loves anything orange – orange juice, clementines, or even orange aroma(my daughter’s favorite color is orange – but that’s another story ;). That citrus smell gets me every time! Us gingham gals were just talking the other day about planning our annual Christmas Brunch.  It’s a wonderful spread of all of our breakfast favorites.  Check it out here if you haven’t yet.  Jenny said, ” I love Orange Julius.”  And I sure do too.

Have you ever had a dreamsicle before?  Frozen orange on the outside and creamy goodness on the inside.  Yep, this recipe reminds just of that  – it is simple and gives me a recharging invigorating boost for the day.  It’s great for breakfast or would be a perfect after-school snack, too.  Enjoy!
