Do you love going on country walks?
Actually I love being outdoors, going for long walks and being inspired by the creation surrounding me. Seasons change fairly quickly the older I become 🙂 , so it seems every time I go out I see another plant in bloom, another cute little calf romping and playing in the pasture (always close to Mama) and the hint of another season’s change upon us. Two years ago harvest had already begun. The drought birthed an early ripening of the corn and beans. The men are watching, waiting, and anticipating that tomorrow just might be the big start date. The machinery is being fine-tuned and well-oiled as I write.
As I walk into the rural scene, I talk to my Father. I am often reminded by Him: “To whom much is given, much is required.” I shutter sometimes when I think about the amount of blessings I feel the Lord has given me. I am humbled. I am thankful. And this verse from Luke is played over and over in my mind. “Lord, you have done so much for me, I want my life in You to count. What can I do for you, Lord? What do You want me to do for You?”What do you want me to do for You today?” He has done so much for me.
He says to my heart, “PRAY. Pray throughout your day. Pray for your loved ones. Pray for your enemies. Pray for special needs. I’m here. I’m listening. I’m working in your life. All things work together for good for those who love Me, for those who are called, according to My purpose.” And just like any good Daddy, (Abba means Daddy), He cares, He listens, He loves, His Heart breaks, His heart rejoices, and He’s ALWAYS there for us. He says, “Draw close to Me, and I will draw close to you. It’s called communication. It’s called relationship. We know how important those elements are with our spouses, our loved ones, our friends, neighbors, co-workers, bosses. They are critical…….and so it is with God. He becomes Daddy God when we choose to surrender our life to Him. That’s when the intimate relationship begins. Not before that time. So…….definition of prayer: Talking to our Father. He talks to us through His word and nudges His children through the indwelling Holy Spirit, who comes into our lives when we invite Jesus to be our Savior. He guides and directs our lives as we submit to Him. And He wants us to call on Him, any time, any where…..call on Him.
Have you heard about the movie that came out last Friday night? It’s called WarRoom and I want you to see it. I ask you to see it. It will change your life regarding prayer. I’m not kidding. I urge you to see it.
I recieved an email from my dear Missouri cousin:
Preview YouTube video War Room – The Heart of the Movie (Short)
Challenge: Take you bible, look in the back, the index, and look up verses on prayer. There are many of them. Then go for a long walk, preferably from the hustle and bustle of the world around you,
and think about all you have loyally read, and talk to God.
