Yesterday, we spent the afternoon doing some fun baking and crafts. I wish I could tell you that my cupcakes were from scratch, but I admittedly picked up the Pillsbury Halloween cake box this time… I guess the frosting was homemade. The excitement for my four year old was putting in the paper muffin tins and evenly (or at least attempting) distributing out the mix. Then came the orange frosting – she enjoyed seeing how the color orange was made, and then of course don’t forget the sprinkles.
While the muffins were baking in the oven, she worked on painting an orange plate and then tearing off little pieces of black construction paper to complete the jack-0-lantern effect. Looking back, we forgot to add the green for the stem.
I found peanut butter Oreos the other day, and was thinking of what I could do with them…then I saw I had almond bark left in the cupboard, and thought anything dipped in almond bark is delicious. So that’s what we made; however, any type of Oreo would be good with this – I like anything peanut butter. This is great at Christmas with peppermint Oreos and festive sprinkles or crushed candy cane.
