Pumpkin Munch
October is a favorite month and we are enjoying all the fun this season has to offer. Last weekend we carved our pumpkins and cooked the pumpkin seeds with butter and salt. I have one that LOVED digging into the inside of the cold, gooey pumpkin gettin’ out all the stuff… the other was more apprehensive and after a few quick digs was ready for handwashing. Good thing we were up for taking the ‘offer’ to help out on this one!
We also love anything that involves dipping in almond bark, so I thought this fall treat would be right up our alley! A fun recipe to do with kids or grandkids. It’s a great snack or dessert and involves simple ingredients:
popped popcorn
Chex cereal
pretzel sticks, broken into small bits
candy corn
and sprinkles of course
Mix together and drizzle with almond bark.
Happy Fall Y’all!
- 4 cups popped popcorn
- 4 cups Chex Corn Cereal
- 2 cups thin pretzel sticks broken into pieces
- 1½ c. candy corn
- 12 oz. almond bark
- 2 T. chocolate sprinkles
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
- Add the popcorn, Chex cereal, pretzel pieces, and candy corn to a very large mixing bowl.
- In a microwave safe-bowl melt the almond bark according to package directions.
- Drizzle almond bark over the popcorn mixture, then using a spatula, quickly (but gently) stir and fold until all the ingredients are coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the lined baking sheet, spreading it out to an even layer.
- Sprinkle the chocolate sprinkles on top.
- Once dry and set, break into snack-size pieces and serve.
