It wouldn’t be fall without_________________ (insert your favorite fall noun here). For me, I would choose either apple crisp or colorful leaves. My kids would probably respond with pumpkins or sugar cookies or decorating cookies. So, what does make your Fall? I’d be curious to know. For some of us, it’s undoubtedly food and recipes, others may say something from nature. It could also be a particular scent or activity.
After all of the rain the last few weeks, we finally have sunshine that is here to stay. Hooray! The farmers are finally getting back in the fields and revving up those combines. We are loving this warm sunshine and the cool crisp air.
Since I know how much my kids enjoy decorating cookies, we made these fun pumpkin cookies together. I used this recipe for the sugar cookies and this for the buttercream frosting. I kept it pretty simple with 3 options for the frosting colors – white, orange, and green. We had fun playing around with the variations of the three colors. We used just a few sprinkles and then did a little piping for the outlines and swirly pumpkin top…maybe these will make your bucket list, too. Happy Fall Y’All!
