Yes, this sauce is quick and easy and tangy and bright and cool and delicious! We loved it, and I think you will, too. We order this often at our favorite neighborhood Greek restaurant, but it was really fun to make it at home.
Our thirteen year old, Bennett, is taking a “Cooking Around the World” class, and this week they made a stop in Greece. He was assigned to make a Greek recipe at home. He chose tzatziki, which has just a few simple ingredients such cucumber, dill, lemon juice, and Greek yogurt. He was able to whip it up in about ten minutes, and it was delicious with some pita bread and kabobs.
Greek Tzatziki Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 C plain Greek yogurt
- 1 C diced cucumber
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Tbsp dill chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Stir all of the ingredients together and chill until ready to serve.
- Serve with chopped veggies (peppers, cucumbers, carrots) or pita chips for dipping. Or serve as a sauce for beef or chicken kabobs.
