This is a fun and easy drink for the 4th of July! It is refreshing on a hot day, and can easily be made into a large – punch size version or can be used for individual sized glasses. It pairs nicely with a snack like, Popcorn Munch,
We love making popcorn munch. I just added some blue M & Ms and red sprinkles for the 4th of July.
Red, White, and Blue drink is made with only 3 ingredients – keeping it simple for us! Yay!
Red = Cranberry Juice
White = Diet Sprite
Blue = Frost Gatorade
The pouring is the tricky part – it needs to be done carefully in order to keep the patriotic striped effect. The sugar concentration is why this drink works – starting with the heaviest on the bottom and ending with the lightest on top.
When I made this, I used the individual glasses. Start with crushed ice (if you desire), then add 1/3 of cranberry juice to the glass. Wait until it has settled. Then add 1/3 of the Diet Sprite. Wait until it has settled. Finally, add the blue Frost Gatorade. It helped me to keep a steady small stream close to the glass when pouring. Garnish with strawberries and blueberries.
Happy 4th of July!
- 1 (64 oz) cranberry juice
- 2 (32 oz) blue Frost Gatorade
- 1 (2 L) Diet Sprite
- strawberries and blueberries to garnish
- Add crushed ice to glass or bowl. Then add cranberry juice. Wait for it to settle completely. Slowly and carefully add Diet Sprite - keeping a small consistent stream close to the glass while pouring. Wait for Sprite to settle. Then lastly add the blue Frost Gatorade keeping a small stream close to the glass. Then garnish with blueberries and strawberries, if desired.
Another red, white, and blue favorite that is always a hit with a crowd: Flag Cake!
