Refreshing Smoothie Bowl
A good friend introduced me to these refreshingly wonderful smoothie bowls. I had only seen but not tasted them. Smoothie Bowls seem to be kind of a trendy thing right now…little did I know they are ultra simple to make at home. They are a perfect breakfast or great afternoon snack.
Much to my delight, I found that they are so fun to put together (my four year-old thought so too). I try to load mine up with as many toppings as I can. The best part is enjoying a little crunch with fresh fruit. I used this homemade granola recipe that I happened to have on hand. These are a refreshing way to start your day. Enjoy!
- 2 c. frozen fruit (variety of choice)
- 8 oz. greek yogurt (I use coconut)
- ¼ c. orange juice
- 1 c. ice
- Toppings: coconut, granola, fresh fruit, chia seeds, almonds, pecans. Drizzle with honey
- Blend together frozen fruit, yogurt, orange juice, and ice. Pour into a medium sized bowl. Add favorite toppings and drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
