Thousands of kiddos all over the Midwest are Rejoicing today. Why is that, you ask?
SNOW DAY!!!
Yes, a massive weather pattern will be covering a good portion of the Midwest today and has already begun making its way into our area. The weather woman is predicting around ELEVEN INCHES of snow in Southwest Iowa. YIKES!
Yet, in the meantime, Annie, Shane and crew are probably gearing up to
SURF!!!
in the Pacific ocean as they are vacationing on the beach this week in “Sunny” Southern California.
Wow! What a contrast! Part of my family is probably hunting for swim suits, wet suits, goggles, towels and flippers while the other part of my family will soon be pulling on snow pants, mismatched mittens and woolen stocking caps while gathering sleds and tools for tunnel building.
Yes, the weather certainly can be a mood changer and it does affect us all in many different ways, yet we must make a choice this day to
REJOICE!!!
Rejoice in your heart regardless of the weather conditions, the work load or the hardships that face us this day.
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice.” Philippians 4:4
“This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
Whether the sun is blinding and making for hot sand or the wind is howling with snow swirling ’round us, we have a choice to make today. Our pastor preached on loving one another, caring for the needs of others, and making a decision, with God’s help to project a good attitude.
Rejoicing in the Lord and permeating joy affects you and those around you.
Choose joy today. Yes, it is a choice we make when our feet hit the floor first thing in the morning. Rejoicing is contagious and it makes for a day in the life a WHOLE LOT BETTER!
Will you make that decision to choose joy? Will you Rejoice in our wonderful Creator and what He has given us this day? Will you be the catalyst for change of attitude and good works this day? While so much evil, misinformation and darkness sneaks up on us in this ‘ol world, let your light shine and your attitude make a difference to yourself and to those around you.
You’ll have a glad heart with your decision and so will others.
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” Romans 12:12
This Grandma will keep her phone close by today as I’m guessing there will be some surfing/beach and snowday photos coming my way!
