Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?
Next Sunday the Super Bowl arrives on screens. Bet you’re dreaming about a couple recipes that would work well for you and the gang as you gather round the TV to watch some spectacular viewing. Let’s be honest……..those commercials are the moments you just have to stay in the room for, right? The football replays are constant……and important, I might ad. It’s those commercials that you can’t miss cuz you might miss something big. I remember a couple of them: “So God Made a Farmer” and Focus on the Family’s commercial on choosing Life with the Tim Tebow story. Wow! WOw! WOW! WOZER! Those 2 made impacts. Huge impacts on our nation. What will Sunday night’s TV bring? I know we will have a lot of fun watching the game AND the commercials. Surrounding us will be family. It will be a big day for us.
- What to Eat
So…..what will be on your “Super Bowl” table? One thing I’ve decided on will be some hearty Maidrites. Being beef producers, I’m always on the lookout for another great Maidrite/Sloppy Joe recipe. There’s always hamburger in our freezer (well, almost always). It’s just a staple around here and we all seem to love this staple.
- Because of Relationships
I’m sharing with you today an old, old Maidrite recipe that’s one of my all-time favorites. Some of the ingredients sound a bit odd to stir up together, but trust me. It’s a winner. Growing up in this small town, my best best friend was Sally. We were inseparable. There were lots of sleepovers, ballgames, cheerleading, school projects, plays, riding around in our parent’s cars, and on and on and on. Her mom, Shar, fixed us these Maidrites once and I fell in love with them and asked for the recipe. It’s my fav in the Sloppy Joe/Maidrite collection. Hope you like it, too. Maybe you’ll make a crockpot full for the Super Bowl game or your next gathering. Let me know what you think. 🙂

So…..no matter who wins, who loses…who you root for…..ENJOY the people around you. Let them know that they mean a lot to you. Make it a point to talk to each one and help them to feel valued. God wants us to love one another. Super Bowl Sunday is a great way to show how much you care!
