I love St. Patrick’s Day! Maybe its because two of my grandparents were predominantly Irish, but mainly I think it’s because I love the story of St. Patrick. I love how God chose one man to forever change a nation. Patrick had an unbelievable life? Do you know his story? You can read all about it right here. Maybe print it off and read it to your kids or grand kids so that can know a really awesome God-story as well. I believe that biographies like these really bolster faith.
And then… there are so many fun recipes to make and enjoy on St. Patrick’s Day. Over the years, we have shared so many fun ones here on the Gingham Apron. I thought I’d round them up to give you some fresh inspiration this St. Patrick’s Day. (Plus, I find that my kids learn so much more and remember more about holidays or an important person when we discuss their life while making some fun food together!)
Irish Soda Breads

Or perhaps the Irish soda muffins would be a fun additional to your St. Patrick’s Day.

So, are there any special recipes that you make that I’ve missed? In what other ways do you celebrate. (Please do not tell me you dye your dog green. Ha!) Please share!
And I’ll leave you today with this verse because St. Patrick’s Day is really all about how God loved Patrick, and how Patrick in turn laid down his life for the Irish people.
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
