Hi friends! I have been reading a really fantastic book that I’d like to share with you. Surrender the Joy Stealers, Redicover the Jesus Joy in You by Doris Swift has been perfect for me to read this summer, and I think you’ll love it, too. And we are giving away a copy; see how to enter below.
In a world often filled with challenges and uncertainties, the pursuit of joy can seem like an elusive goal. However, author Doris Swift has taken it upon herself to unravel the mysteries of finding true joy in her insightful book, Surrender the Joy Stealers. Swift if a women’s ministry leader and the host of the award-winning Fierce Calling Podcast.
Swift introduces the concept of “joy stealers,” those negative forces that have the power to rob us of our joy. These joy stealers can manifest in various ways, such as self-doubt, comparison, resentment, and fear. They lurk in the shadows, diminishing our capacity to experience joy and fulfillment. But I loved Swift’s encouraging words. She writes, “We’re fighting a battle, friend, but we do not fight alone. In fact, the Lord fights for us. Through his divine power, ungodly throughts can be shut down.” Swift continually takes the reader back to the Word of God for solutions.
I love how this book is written as an interactive 6-week Bible study. It’s based on John 15, but there are many other parts of the Bible woven in. I especially enjoyed reading Swift’s personal experiences, which were woven in through the book, each of them telling of the faithfulness of our loving God.
In a world where negativity and challenges abound, Surrender the Joy Stealers serves as a timely reminder that joy in the Lord is an attainable goal for everyone. I highly encourage you to grab a copy for yourselves. Even better: gather a group of your best friends and go through this encouraging book together. You’ll be so blessed!
You can purchase Surrender the Joy Stealers here.
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment. You can tell us what you do when you feel your joy is being stolen. Or simply say, “I’d love to read this book!” We’ll choose a winner on August 23rd.

This sounds like a wonderful book that we all need in these difficult days of turmoil in our country. Our country needs a huge refresher course in the work of the Lord & what He has done for us, but we can all benefit from reading about our Dear Lord & sometimes a glimpse thru another pair of eyes.

Hmmm what do I do when I feel my joy is “stolen”….sometimes …first, I cry….I’ve had alot of problems for the past 1 1/2 years ….now in therapy, and have been going back to the Bible….making sure (almost every day..sometimes I do miss) but I am in the Bible first thing ….We joined a new church last October and I have been getting into activities in church.. and Bible study….I write scripture cards of verses I love or need….and inspirational thoughts I find on line …. Life has UPs and downs …. learning to “work with it” and finding the JOY in little things…..mostly JOY in the little things….give me the most happiness…. Thank you….always love Gingham Apron posts and recipes….

I’d really like to read this book. There is so much negativity facing us everyday. I’m my own worst enemy sometimes with self doubt and confidence. But I always go to Gods word which confirms over and over whose I am and how much I’m loved. Thankfully He never changes. Thank you for sharing this study.

I’d love to read this book. I have always been a light, having positivity and fun and a smile. In the last 1 1/2 years I have struggled with joy off and on since losing my dad. He was my rock, he was my sounding board, he believed in me and loved me. I have “some” joy back. I know that as a believer and having trust in the Lord that I should not struggle, yet here I am. I also ponder on how do those who do not know Him cope? I know that something is missing that the Lord wants to share with me, I know that He is the light and the Way, just struggling connecting.
