A lot of thoughts ran through my head this morning as I Philippians chapter 4. As I came across verse 4, I read, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.” (Yes, this one has to be my favorite verse of the chapter!)
I continued on and read verse 6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (No, maybe this is the best one. This one is just perfect for me today!)
And then came the promise of verse 7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Peace that surpasses understanding. I gladly receive that gift.)
{At this point I have given up on the impossible task of choosing the best verse.}
Further on down came verse 13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (How many times has this promise come to my mind during difficulties?)
And finally, coming to verse 19, I read, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Thank you Lord for taking care of me.)
Philippians chapter 4 is so full of some of my most favorite verses; I can’t choose just one. I encourage you to take 10 minutes today to quietly sit and savor this precious section of God’s Word. I dare you to try to decide what is your favorite verse!
