We’ve just had our third snow day in a row and I have been enjoying some extra time with the kiddos. We’ve played in the snow, had light saber wars, put together nearly every puzzle we own and built LEGO creations for hours.
Yesterday, I assumed the kiddos would be headed back to school so I set an extra early alarm to get a jump start on regaining the house from our fun few days at home. (Cleaning while the kids are sleeping helps ease my mom guilt 😉) An hour and a half into my cleaning frenzy my phone rang. Low and behold another snow day. I immediately set down my laundry basket and decided to let go of all the work I had done and embrace the day. It was a good thing I did as the high winds and negative windchills did not allow us outside and the house quickly returned to a fun zone.
All that to say, having to put our schedules on hold and stay home has been enjoyable. No meetings, no volunteering, no lessons or homework, just hours at home together like the good ole’ days.
With February and Valentine’s Day creeping up on us we have also been having a great time to doing some valentine crafting, decorating and baking.
This Valentine Dessert Snack Mix has three ingredients my kiddos love and takes me back to my childhood. You can’t go wrong with a combination of M&M’s, marshmallows and birthday cake bunnies (goldfish vanilla Graham’s work equally as well, the bunnies are just what we had on hand). You just mix it up and it’s a festive and fun snack! Enjoy 😊
